Impact of Experiences on Chronic Disease and Mental Health in Children


Please join the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Louisiana School-Based Health Alliance for a day discussing the impact that experiences have on children and how we can promote community awareness and support.

Objectives:

•    Be able to describe the elements and components of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study is
•    Be able to explain the immediate consequences that adverse childhood
experiences have on the child at the time of the events, at various periods of growth, and on the child's adulthood
•    Be able to identify support strategies for the children and families at all stages
•    Be able to demonstrate how to properly use of the ACE Questionnaire and
how to record responses
•    Will recognize and be able to explain how the characteristics of different
groups impacts the interest and involvement of communities throughout the state of Louisiana
•    Be able to discuss and be familiar with the way in which all data collection
sites will be assigned numbers
•    Be ab1e to demonstrate the way in which each site will select the proper code or each student/patient ACE score to de-identify the information at the state level
•    Be able to explain how each site/provider can seek assistance, if needed, with coding -student/patient information
